Sword Swallowing in the Middle East

I had a GREAT time performing this past week at the Eid al-Adha festival in Doha, Qatar in the Middle East! What a life-changing experience!

Let me take you a quick recap with a few photos (sorry I didn’t take many - I’m just learning to use the camera on my new Blackberry phone!).

Here’s a quick video clip I shot of a skeptical sword shop owner who didn’t believe sword swallowing was really real. I had him remove the sword, and he BELIEVED! Ended up buying a cool curved shamshir sword from him at a great price!

Thanksgiving Update News!

I hope you’re having a great Fall! There’s just enough time for a quick update before Thanksgiving holiday here in the US, so I’ll keep this short…

It’s been a busy year and a great chance to meet so many new friends around the world, which is one of the things I am most thankful for - YOU!

There’s a lot in the works in the weeks and months ahead, but I really want to tell you about one adventure that I am really looking forward to…

HAVE SWORD, WILL TRAVEL
Many of you know about my list of Goals and THROMES - One of my top Thromes was to get to the Middle East. Well, after working on it with a friend for over the past 2 years, it looks like it is finally coming true this week!

This afternoon I leave on a 25 hour flight to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and ulimately on to the city of Doha, in the emirate of Qatar in the Gulf coast. I will be performing at a festival at a Middle Eastern bazaar called Souk Waqif, and am really looking forward to this new adventure!

Here are a few photos of the bazaar where I will be performing:

Besides performing, I am hoping to do some GeoCaching and maybe even an Arabian horse trek or camel trek or falconry trek with the Beduoin into the desert!

If you’d like more details, follow me live on Twitter, and I will try to update several times a day with status reports and even photos from the road!

Unfortunately, this means I won’t get to celebrate a real American Thanksgiving with my family, but I want you to know that I will be thinking of you and be thankful for you!

I hope you’ll have a great Thanksgiving! I’ll try to give you an update after I get back. Otherwise, please follow me on Twitter for live updates!

I’ve got to pack and get ready to head to the airport soon. Will keep you posted on details!

I hope you’ll have a very blessed Thanksgiving! I know I’m blessed to have you as my friend, and I’ll be thinking of you!
